Our STORY

We support vulnerable women and youth in Kenya through life-changing interventions promoting child protection, education and economic empowerment

Who WE ARE

Angaaza was established in 2021 by a group of 10 members from diverse backgrounds passionate about making positive social impact to Lucky Summer estate and neighbouring low-income communities of Korogocho, Babadogo, Kasabuni, Ngomongo, Kariobangi, Mathare, Huruma and Dandora. Angaaza focuses on empowerment initiatives particularly targeting the youth and vulnerable members of the communities.

Angaaza is inspired by Swahili word ‘mwangaza’ which means light. The CBO aspires to illuminate lives, giving hope to youth and the disadvantaged through specific empowerment and change programs.

Angaaza is registered by Directorate of Social Development under registration number HUD.CSQ/KAS/CBO/11/2023/017.

Mission

Angaaza is committed to empowering marginalized communities in low-income areas through transformative educational programs, vocational training, and job creation opportunities. We work to build resilience, enhance employability, foster entrepreneurship, and promote sustainable livelihoods through youth-led climate action.

Vision

We envision an empowered society where all individuals, especially those from vulnerable backgrounds, have equal access to education, employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities. By empowering youth and other marginalized groups, we aim to break the cycle of poverty, reduce inequality, and create an inclusive community that thrives on innovation and sustainability.
